“Cum-panis” is a portable, pyrolytic wood oven that can be worn as a backpack. The oven has been designed to be light and dismountable.

Cum-panis is performed as a relational tool to cook together and create situations of encounter with the neighbours and generate non-economical forms of exchange.

Inspired by the folk story “Stone Soup”, we just bring the tool for cooking, sourdough and some wild weeds we collect on location. The people are invited to bring an ingredient each for the topping and cook together. Food in this way is used as a bite to capture local stories further edited on location with the Gelatinografo. The places for the “restaurant” are both rural or urban and are chosen strategically so that the neighbors could tell stories about it.
